This is a new experience for us.
Over the next few months as we wait for our new EP “You Can’t Lose it All, All at Once” to be released we are getting back into our backrooms and working on the next full length. After talking with the good people at The Chevy Music Showcase we’ve decided to bring you into the room as well.
The doors on what is typically one of the most private, personal processes that a band has, are going to be thrown wide open. We are going to show you the songs as they develop from a sketch, a paragraph, a guitar lick thrown together in the middle of the night into a working song (hopefully).
You will be able to see the songs take shape in practice, how they develop, and then the way they are shaped in the studio.
We’re going to bring you behind the curtain and show you how the trick works before the audience gets to see it, so check back in each week to see how things are going. Let us know what you think. We’ve got lots of work to do. We’d better get started.

Here’s the first 17 songs that we’ve been working on, some of them more done than others, and also a list of covers that we’ve done over the years. (our rendition of Lennon’s “Jealous Guy” once made a reviewer for the Pitch say that he wanted to shoot himself in the face. He didn’t. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing)

We’re all really excited about what would be #18 on the list, tenativly titled “Cheers! Here’s to you Patience”

Brent has worked up the first draft of lyrics and put together the songs structure. Check out a little rough demo we put together as he showed me how it was going…

In retrospect, I’ll probably set the camera on something next time. Hopefully it’s not too Blair Witch for you.
